Actor Emraan Hashmi who was last seen in Why Cheat India is all set to star in a biopic. Emraan has been roped in to play Retd Air Commodore Kariyadil Cheriyan Kuruvilla, known as KC Kuruvilla, who had a pivotal contribution in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. To be directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte – who last helmed The Accidental Prime Minister – the film is titled Vayusena.
KC Karuvilla was awarded the prestigious Vir Chakra for flying on successful bombing missions against Pakistan in the 1971 war. The film is set to go on floors this November. The makers have also written to the government seeking permission to shoot on real airbase along with real fighter planes to bring authenticity to the film. The plot of the film that begins in the 1971 war ends in the 1999 Kargil war.
