Fire breaks out on the sets of the ‘ALTBalaji’ obsession-thriller web series ‘Girgit’ with actress Taniya Kalrra in it!

Yes, you read that correctly. During the shoot for ‘ALTBalaji’s’ ‘Girgit’ in Manali, murmurs of a fire breaking on the sets began to unfurl, and the lead actor of the show Taniya Kalrra was reportedly trapped in her room with her makeup artist. Girgit is a story that brings to the fore the darkness inherent within all of us. It explores the limits of human indecency, the lows that one is willing to hit, and the depths of depravity one is willing to touch to get what one truly desires. The show recently hit the tube and has managed to turn many heads ever since. While the show’s cast, direction, and writing have been lauded, this sudden unfortunate incident utterly shook the cast and crew. While they still had no clarity about the situation, panicking during such a time is inevitable. They were all bewildered at the time and chaos broke out on the sets!

Speaking of the incident, Taniya recently revealed, “It was the 8th or 9th day, according to our shoot schedule, which started as a normal day. We were shooting in a bungalow and I was busy in my room, getting my makeup touched up when I suddenly heard a member of the crew running across, howling, which caught my attention at first.”

Further adding to her story, she said, “All the ruckus forced me to come down the stairs, only to be a part of the mayhem created by a fire that had broken out in the living room.  When I stepped out of my room, I was surprised to see that the place was all hazy from the smoke. The whole cast and crew were out of the bungalow while I was still inside where the fire had broken out. It was caused due to somebody using petrol instead of hardwood to burn the fire at the fireplace. The havoc caused all over the sets was unimaginable but fortunately we were all safe and sound post the fire incident.  All in all, I am tremendously relieved that it did not cause much harm.”

This event caused a lot of distress on the sets but actress Taniya Kalrra dealt with the whole situation with great poise. It shook her for sure but that has not at all affected her talents. Beginning her career with theatre to starring in an Ekta R Kapoor web series has been quite the journey for her and she is not letting anything break her flow now. The show also stars Nakul Roshan Sahdev and Trupti Khamkar in primary roles alongside Shahwar Ali, Samar Vermani, Ashmita Jaggi, Aleksandar Ilic, and others. The show started streaming on October 27 and has been getting positive word of mouth since then.
