Saurabh who is all excited for his big release Chhorri with Nushrratt recalls how, so many times, he had packed his bags up, believing he may not be able to continue any longer in this challenging and cut-throat industry.
“I come from a small town called Kichha near Nainital, where like every other child from this town I too studied Electronics and Communication; and my parents wanted me to join their family business and settle down. I did complete my engineering to make my parents happy but then could not resist the temptation of coming to the city of dreams, Mumbai and realise my biggest dream of becoming an actor.” says Saurabh.
It looks 10 years for me to finally see a big project come through and I can’t wait to see my family’s reaction watching me on the big screen. Because in my journey of pursuing my dreams they have suffered a lot. They have lived in constant fear of the unknown roads of this industry and also worrying; what If I don’t make it? Saurabh further adds. “I packed up three times to settle down with my parents but then somehow I found the strength and determination to make my way back here.”
In Chhori, a remake of the Marathi-language film Lapachhapi, Saurabh will be seen playing Hemant, husband of the very pregnant Sakshi, played by Nushrratt Bharuccha.
Saurabh is a Whistling Woods alumni who is a popular face in TV commercials and has already given a sneak-peak of his acting calibre in films like Nagesh Kukunoor mentored Shor se Shuruaat.
He was recently seen in Raghubir Yadav and Shweta Basu Prasad- starrer Jamun and the very poignant single-shot feature film, Ghar Pe Bataao that dealt with the true side of millennial relationships. Headlined by Saurabh this 2021 film has garnered much praise from the critics.
