The ‘Czarina of Content’, Ekta R. Kapoor, announced the launch of ALTBalaji and MX Player’s biggest and the most fearless reality show, Lock Upp:  Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel recently at a mega press conference. Laying all speculations to rest, Ekta introduced the Queen of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut as the host of Lock Upp. Given that Lock Upp is a captive reality show, it was obvious that the media would compare it with other popular reality shows. However, while announcing Lock Upp:  Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel, Ekta had made it clear that the show would be based on a completely homegrown concept and not be a copy of any show from the West.

At the press conference, the host Kangana Ranaut came out all guns blazing and claimed, “This is not your big brother’s house. This is my jail!” The feisty host made sure that the audience understood that this is a different game.  Ekta R. Kapoor supported Kangana and hailed the show as a project that is aatmanirbhar which has been conceptualized in India.

Lock Upp will be streamed on ALTBalaji and MX Player from 27th February onwards. The show will have 16 popular celebrity contestants locked up in Kangana Ranaut’s jail where they will compete for the most basic amenities as they fight for the title of the winner.
