Just a few days back, we had reported how Shatrughan Sinha, a two-term sitting MP from Patna Sahib, was miffed with his party BJP after they fielded Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for the very constituency. Not just the veteran actor himself, in fact, everyone was surprised knowing his name wasn’t considered for the Patna Sahib seat. Later, the actor-turned-politician took to Twitter and vented out his anger against Bharatiya Janata Party. After being ignored by BJP, Sinha decided to join Congress. It’s very much likely that he will take on Ravi Shankar Prasad in the upcoming elections.
While it will be interesting to see who will win the Patna Sahib constituency, for now, its Shatrughan Sinha’s latest tweet that has caught our attention. Talking about his exit from BJP, the actor wrote on Twitter, “Painfully….on the way out of BJP….But hopefully in the best direction under the dynamic leadership of my dear friend Lalu Yadav and the desirable, most talked about leader from the Nehru Gandhi family… the true family of nation builders…” While the yesteryear actor is no longer associated with BJP, veteran actress Jaya Prada recently joined the party. She may contest from the Rampur parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh representing BJP.

Apart from her, quite a few celebs are a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party. While Hema Malini will be contesting for BJP from Mathura, Smriti Irani will be contesting from Amethi. The Lok Sabha elections will commence on April 11 and will go on till May 19 in seven different phases and the results will be out on May 23. For more updates on this front, stay tuned to CineBlitz!
