Pragya Kapoor’s Maali wins Big at the Queens World Film Festival

An impactful film which makes us realise the importance of Nature and Mental Health. Maali by Pragya Kapoor and Sonali Rana has created waves across nations. Written by Shiv-Sonali, and directed by Shiv C Shetty, the film got its World Premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It was also the only Indian Feature Film at QWFF amongst 157 films from 27 nations across the globe.
The film was received with a lot of love and a standing ovation after the screening in New York. The film was nominated in two categories and Shiv won the best Director award. He added “When the film was being made, we had put our life and soul into it, and it is so gratifying to see people connect with our film and give it so much love.”
“It was a surreal moment when we received a standing ovation in New York. I have seen Shiv live this journey for more than 3 years and him winning the Best Director award is just so gratifying,” said Sonali. “This is our first award and I feel like it’s such an important milestone for us as a team too. I am proud of Shiv and happy to see his and the team’s effort being rewarded. ‘added Pragya Kapoor”
