Radhika Mehrotra on shooting in Andaman for Kaala Paani: “We all became like a family”

As Netflix announces the second season of Kaala Paani, actress Radhika Mehrotra talks about how thrilled she is to continue the journey of Ritu Gagra. Radhika shared her experience of diving into the world of Kaala Paani.

She stated, “Her character Ritu Gagra is a PhD in communicable diseases which meant a headfirst nosedive into the medical terminologies, jargons and also the medical equipment …the rigorous training she had to undergo to make the smallest syringes to more complicated microscopes were an enthralling experience but also something that made the character real. Shooting in Andamans was not just about the challenging terrain and moody weather but walking through the fauna as if every leaf and ant has a story that Ritu has heard before and is here to tell the world about it…she stayed there interacting with locals and the fauna in a way a PhD would …in some ways she felt like Lara Croft ..a woman in uncharted territories but her weapons remained her Lab coat and her conviction.

The actress credited the success of the series to the collaborative efforts of the entire cast and crew and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from the audience.
