Poison song: Hard Kaur’s new single is all about freedom of expression – watch video

Hard Kaur is back with a new song, but we aren’t quite impressed

British-Indian Rapper Hard Kaur has just dropped her new single which is titled Poison. Kaur, who has sung many hit songs in Bollywood like Lucky boy, Move your body and few more, said that the inspiration behind her new track was the recent verdict on section 377.  For her, Poison is about the celebration of that historic decision. Well, we are impressed with her idea but not so much with the video of her song. It’s quite raunchy and Kaur is neither seen showing off her moves or her rapping skills. On the contrary, she is seen showing off her sexy, bold avatar. Clearly, the 39-year-old has taken full creative freedom to shoot this video.

Poison, which is Hard Kaur’s personal expression on self-liberation, is picturised on the singer herself and a hot male model. It’s been shot in what looks like a warehouse and the male model is basically shirtless throughout the song. But that’s not all! For some reason, his jeans are unbuttoned as well which is rather uncomfortable to watch. Anyway, Hard Kaur stands out in the video courtesy her quirky fashion sense. In one of the shots, she is just seen two X shaped stickers on her body. Yes, you heard right. Though we aren’t a fan of her new song video, Hard Kaur has definitely made a bold statement with it and we commend her for putting forward her vision, irrespective of how it’s received by the audiences.

Rapping is what we know Hard Kaur for but sadly there none in her new track. As for the video, we think it could have been shot a lot more aesthetically. It’s just too over the top and comes off as trying too hard to just grab the attention, leaving the viewers feeling really uncomfortable. Also, the song is very basic so it’s a little disappointing overall. While we commend her bold vision and the inspiration behind the message, the song and the video are both very underwhelming, to say the least. We have seen bigger and better tracks coming from Kaur in the past. And so we hope she finds her MOJO back!
