Aamir Khan's 54th birthday

Think of perfection and one name will definitely come to your mind. Yes, we are talking about one of our favourite Bollywood actors, Aamir Khan. From his larger-than-life films to his small gestures, the actor is all about doing things right. While many actors in the B-Town chase good roles, a good director or big pay cheques, Aamir has always looked forward to good projects where he feels great about doing the film. This simply puts out a big message and proves what a humble actor he is. But Mr Perfectionist is not all about doing the right films! Throughout his decade long career, the actor has always been a part of major social movements. Drought management, raising awareness about girl child, and many more such issues have been talked about by the Dangal star. This just shows how responsible and socially driven he is. To celebrate this very same gesture, let’s take a look at the major initiatives that the birthday boy has taken into consideration from time to time.

# Director of Taare Zameen Par: Who would have thought that an atypical story of a dyslexic boy can be put out to the audience in such a beautiful manner? Aamir Khan stepped into the shoes of the director for this very special film and impressed everyone with the kind of work he did. Portrayed in a very light-hearted manner, Aamir Khan very subtly discussed the issue of dyslexia through this film. And we all can agree that the film has a special place in our hearts.

# Hosted Satyamev Jayate: Our Sundays became more about watching Satyamev Jayate every week because of the content of the show on TV. Aamir Khan talked about various social issues and the problems that people faced and helped people sensitise about these grave issues. His calm and composed self also helped make the show impactful and we would always be thankful to him for this show and his gestures. He even went on to produce a film that revolved around the affliction of farmer’s suicides through the film titled Peepli Live. The film made a powerful impact and made people aware of this issue in a beautiful way.

# Dangal: Aamir Khan created ‘dangal’ at the box office with this film, but his purpose was something very different from just crunching numbers at the BO. From towns to cosmopolitan centres, from multiplexes to single screens, this movie enjoyed a lot of love from the audience and Aamir’s purpose was also served rationally. The film rooted for women empowerment and Aamir Khan’s character as a father with big dreams (for his daughters) in the film was absolutely convincing.

# Paani foundation: Maharastra and many other states in India are suffering from drought. While we all are aware of it, only a few people are actually doing something about it. Aamir Khan is one of those bonafide celebs who took huge leadership to help the people in need. His foundation, infamously known as the Paani Foundation was formed in 2016 to help the people of Maharashtra fight droughts. The actor even invited many of his B-Town celebs to help and raise awareness of the issue and urged people to help the ones in need.

# Rubaru Roshini: This was a very recent event when Aamir Khan produced and presented the audience with a heart-warming docu-drama titled Rubaru Roshini. Bringing forward the aftermath of a terrorist attack, hatred killings and such other issues, Aamir Khan very beautifully showed how people overcame and fought these struggles with hope and forgiveness. This was a perfect anecdote of forgiveness and courage and no one other than Aamir Khan would have done it this well. The film, that covered the story of three courageous people, brought tears to everybody’s eyes and Aamir Khan gained tons of appreciation for this film.

These are some of the many things that prove that Aamir Khan is more than just a star, he’s a true-blue social-activist ninja! The Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan Awardee has never refrained to put efforts towards social causes. And we love him even more for that. Here’s to a great actor and an even better human being, we at CineBlitz wish Aamir Khan a very Happy 54th Birthday. Stay tuned to this space for more such updates from the world of Bollywood.
