Biopics are a sure-shot winner in the movie business. People love to witness celebrated personalities’ life, iconic events and historic moments. After winning hearts and applause with Shershah, Karan Johar will soon adapt the life of freedom fighter Usha Mehta’s life on the celluloid. However, it is been learnt that Johar is not alone in the race, as national award winner director Ketan Mehta will also adapt Usha’s life in his directorial.
Usha Mehta is Ketan’s aunt and as per a source close to the project, “Ketan Mehta knows Usha Mehta’s life well, and he wants to give a tribute to her by his film.” The source further spills, “Ketan is currently working on the script, and he will lock the casting and shoot schedule soon.”
The Padma Vibhushan recipient, Usha Mehta is known for setting up an underground radio- Congress radio, which was instrumental during Quit India Movement. Ketan has proven his expertise in directing biopics with Aamir Khan’s Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Manjhi- The Mountain Man, so one can expect an honest attempt on the life of Usha Mehta.
