Ayan Mukerji has the sweetest things to say about his idol, Shah Rukh Khan – find out here

Shah Rukh Khan has fans across the globe, to the extent that he is a religion unto himself. Many worship him as an idol, but today we saw a confession by a man who himself makes films, and it is none other than the Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji. He has put up an adorable post and you cannot miss it.

Ayan Mukerji had been an Assistant Director on many Bollywood films, till he took centre stage as director. Ayan, as mentioned in his post, has worked with SRK on two films, namely Swades and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and he considers him an idol. On his Instagram post, the director wrote, “SRK (1) Inspiration. Obsession. Idol. My single biggest love at the movies through my entire childhood and teenage years, leading up the highlight of my 2 assistant director experiences – Swades and KANK – which was that I got to be in the presence of Shah Rukh Khan. And when I got very lucky, to be a stand-in with him for blocking scenes (This photo is framed and put up in my house by my mother who considered it the height of my achievement obviously) The joys of those early years when I was an AD, fresh in the industry, interacting with everyone for the first time – sometimes I wish I could go back to the innocence of that time…#lookingback #connectingthedots #SRKlove.”

With the post, Ayan also put up a picture of him hugging King Khan on what looks like the Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna set. (An unrelated piece of trivia — Ayan was also seen in a song Tumhi Dekho Na in the film).  Ayan Mukherji’s next film is the much-anticipated Brahmastra, which is slated to released in December 2019. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. Labeled a superhero-drama, the film created quite a huge stir with its logo launch a few weeks ago.
