Bigil song Verithanam: South star Vijay turns singer for Atlee’s film

Atlee-directed Bigil is undoubtedly a project that’s being much-looked forward to and the Vijay–starrer is getting bigger day-by-day. The latest development is that Vijay has sung a song for Bigil. Yes, that’s right. Yesterday (June 8) the makers announced that Vijay has sung a song titled Verithanam composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman.

This is the first time Vijay has lent his voice for an AR Rahman song. “A big thank you to our #Thalapathy from all of us (His fans) for granting our request to sing in this album Trust me the song is #Verithanam Thank you @arrahman Sir, @Atlee_dir @Lyricist_Vivek for making this happen @SonyMusicSouth #Bigil (sic),” tweeted Archana Kalpathi of AGS Cinemas, who is bankrolling the big-ticket film. Bigil is touted to be the highest-budget film in Vijay’s career. It also marks his third collaboration with Atlee after Theri and Mersal. The film will hit the theatres in Diwali. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more news and updates.

In the past few years, many Marathi films were shot in foreign countries, but in this difficult period of Covid, Marathi film did not step back and began its work. Nitin Prakash Vaidya who has produced films like ‘Gachchi’, ‘Naal’ and ‘Mann Fakiraa’ is back with his new Marathi film ‘Choomantar’ which will be a bilingual film starring Prarthana Behere, Rinku Rajguru, Suvrat Joshi, and Rishi Saxena. Sameer Joshi will be directing this multi-star film.

When we talk about Marathi films Producer Nitin Prakash Vaidya’s name is always top of the list for his amazing content. While talking about this film he said, “Shooting in this period is challenging. But if see the number of Covid cases in foreign countries it is much less compared to our Maharashtra and India, so the risk is very less which is why I choose London. I have also done a lot of shooting here in the past. Our film unit is only of 20-25 people. Before heading towards London, for everyone’s safety, we also started the immunity boost up course as per my doctor’s guidance. Before leaving India each one of us did 3 Covid tests and after getting the negative result I did the work of visa and tickets. We also took Covid insurance and the use of sanitizer and mask is also done. Risk and fear will be there but we will complete our shoot by following all the safety measures.”

Prarthana Behere had given some glimpse of this film to her fans by posting some pictures online. Talking about the film she said, “Before heading towards London all the crew had done their Covid tests and after getting the results negative we got the permission to go to London. The changes and effects which corona has done in everyone’s life were seen at the airport as the whole atmosphere was completely changed. All the safety measures were also been followed in-plane, as I was the only passenger on the 3 seat row. Another benefit of shooting here is that people are less so social distancing is followed very well and the use of mask and sanitizer is also being done.”

Rinku Rajguru will also be seen in his film which will in Marathi & Hindi. This will be Rinku’s first foreign travel due to this film. “My journey from Mumbai to London was filled with excitement. It was good to see that all the safety measures being followed at both the airports & I will also follow safety measures everywhere,” said Rinku Rajguru.

Talking about the film’s shoot Suvrat Joshi said, “Shooting experience was very different in this current scenario. We all follow safety measures while shooting & free time as well. Our whole team is always traveling together as a group and we only have permission to travel from Hotel to set and set to Hotel so there is no risk and each one of us follows safety measures.” Nitin Prakash Vaidya’s upcoming film ‘ Choomantar’ with this strong star cast will increase craze among fans.

As the movie turns 2, Sanya says that the movie will always hold a special place in her life and has been an incredible experience working on it. She excudes, “What I really liked about Badhaai ho was the script – the unconventional story. Badhaai Ho was not just an ordinary experience for me, it was a pathbreaking project for me. I worked really hard on the movie and it will always be close to my heart.”

Speaking more about her character and Ayushmann she added, “Playing Renee gave me an opportunity to explore my emotional side on screen and I am extremely grateful that people loved it. I owe a lot of Renee to Amit sir – his guidance and attention to details helped me justify the role.”

Badhaai Ho was one of the most successful movies of 2018 and also won a National Award for the Best Film in 2019 for its unconventional storyline and impactful yet convincing performances. Touted to be a thorough entertainer, the movie rightfully justified every character’s emotions. Sanya and Ayushmann’s refreshing chemistry won the audiences hearts.
