I owe a huge part of my identity to the art of dance. It has always been by my side as a friend, guide, teacher, and companion. It taught me how to be in sync with myself. Nothing instils grace, discipline, and the hunger for perfection quite like dancing. It is one of my favorite ways to de-stress and it is the ultimate mood lifter.  I am grateful for this beautiful art form and the joy it brings to my soul. On this International Dance Day, I wish everyone the same happiness and harmony that dance has brought to my life!”

“Dancing has been an important part of my life for reasons other than fame, money, and recognition. What helped me the most when I first started dancing was confidence. I used to stammer a lot because I couldn’t speak English very well. But then I started studying dance, and eventually, I learned English. While teaching dance, I gained confidence. People see how I dance and how I got my recognition through dance, but dancing has made me a better person, and I would like to tell all the dancers that don’t stop dancing even if you don’t make it anywhere because this dancing foundation will help you grow and build your personality. I thank the art for who I am today. I wish everyone a very Happy International Dance Day!”

“My dance journey began as a kid who loved to emulate Govinda. I adopted choreographer Darrin Henson’s style, which was the secret to Britney Spears and Michael Jackson’s stellar dance moves. The art form has given me the freedom to express myself without any inhibitions. Thanks to my experience in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, I was able to share my passion with my fans. I am grateful for social media platforms that have made dance accessible to everyone with a phone. On this International Dance Day, let’s celebrate the joy that dance brings to our lives and continue spreading the love for this beautiful art form.”

Dance is an integral part of our cultural and artistic heritage as a nation. As a child, I grew up watching some of Bollywood’s greatest dancers, from Madhuri Dixit to Sridevi, Mithun Chakraborty, and Govinda. I have fond memories of trying to replicate their moves and recreate their dance routines. Being a Bengali I have taken dancing classes from my childhood I have learnt Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Odissi and Bollywood dance as well. When I entered the acting industry, I had the pleasure of working with some of the most renowned choreographers, who taught me everything I know about dancing. I am grateful to them for the knowledge they imparted to me. Today, I encourage everyone to dance as if no one is watching and celebrate the freedom that this art form brings on International Dance Day.”

“Dance is my escape, my release, and my happiness. As an actor, I understand the value of storytelling and dance, for me, is another way of telling stories. It’s a medium that speaks volumes without saying a word. I am grateful to my parents who recognized my talent for dancing and encouraged me to pursue it. Today, I am proud to have an audience that appreciates my dancing skills. Let’s celebrate the joy of dance on this International Dance Day and keep moving to the rhythm of life!”
