The Indian pop icon Daler Mehndi has given epic motivational and patriotic anthems hits lIke Rang de Basanti, Bahubali, Dangal, Le Chhalang, Jagga jiteya’ from URI and ‘Vande Mataram’ from ABCD 2, to name a few and ruled the hearts of music lovers. As a pioneer singer, he has given chartbusters from foot tapping numbers Dardi Rab Rab, Kala Kauwa Kaat Khayega, Balle Balle, Tunak Tunak to his latest single Aao ji a Rajasthani Folk Song. The King of Indi-pop is now coming to rule the charts yet again with a wedding song after 11 years (his last Bollywood wedding number was Bhootni Ke for Akkis Film) for Hum Do Humare Do composed by the Gold composer duo Sachin Jigar. The song is titled Rola Pe Gaya… Ajj Biji ne Madira Chadaee, Baratiyaan cha Rola pe gaya’ starring Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah in the lead roles.
Talking about the song, Daler Mehndi said, “I am excited for the song, which is full of fun and dance and I am sure this song is going to be a hit at all wedding occasions.” He further added, “I have worked with the musical duo Sachin-Jigar earlier and am happy to associate with them again for this song. Not just this, I was looking forward to doing a dance track with them, and immediately they approached me with another dance song for this film. My excitement for this dance song is on another level as I am doing a dance number almost after a decade. It was a fun recording session and a bonding like family with the director of the film Abhishek Jain and Sachin who flew down to Delhi to my home studios DM Folk Studios.
Started his journey with Bhangra-pop in 1995, which later came to be christened as Indi Pop, Daler Mehndi never hesitated in trying different genres of songs. A firm believer that ‘change is the only constant’, one can find the stylish versatile power pitched song writer, composer, singer tending to his plants, trees, cows, goats, dogs (when not recording) at the Daler Mehndi Festive Farms.
