The preparation for Ranveer Singh’s 83 is in full force and CineBlitz has been giving you exclusive updates about the same. The new entry to the ensemble is actor Dinker Sharma who will be playing the ace cricket Kirti Azad in the 1983 World Cup biopic. And here are all the exclusive details you need to know. While we exclusively informed some time ago you that Gully Boy fame Vijay Varma was roped in to play Roger Binny in the Kabir Khan directorial. Today the team gets another addition to make the super Team 11 with Dinker Sharma’s name being added.

The actor will be playing the character of cricketer Kirti Azad who was also a part of the iconic team that bought the 1983 world cup home. Kirti Azad is known to be an aggressive batsman and an off-spinner. Azad is now a member of the Lok Sabha. Whereas Dinker is known for his roles in Delhi Crimes a film that released recently starring Shefali Shah in lead role, Diker also did another film called the Cat People. The actor has been working in off-beat and small projects, but this seems to be his first big break and we will have to wait to see what this new talent has to offer. Team 11 is almost complete and we will reveal a few other names to you soon. 83 is a biopic based on the 1983 World Cup victory that the team India made possible and brought the cup home. The film stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev – the then Captain of the team, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna and a few more in pivotal roles. Earlier Kabir Khan was also spotted in London on a recce tour of the Lord’s Cricket Ground where the finals were played. Wouldn’t it be exciting to see the film showcase the finals on the same pitch? Ranveer has already begun his share of preparation as the biggest challenge for him will be cracking Kapil Dev’s iconic bowling style.
