After banning the film PM Narendra Modi, the Election Commission of India has now put a ban on the web series based on the life of current Prime Minister. The series, Modi – Journey of a Common Man, has been streaming online on Eros Now and showcases three different phases of Modi’s life. Directed by Umesh Shukla, the show stars two different actors who play the PM’s role. While Modi – Journey of a Common Man was available online for the audience to consume till now, Eros Now will stop streaming the show until further notice.
Issuing a notice, the Election Commission of India told Eros Now, “It was brought to our notice that a web series “Modi-Journey of a Common Man, having 5 episodes is available on your platform. You’re directed to stop forthwith the online streaming & remove all connected content of the series till further orders.”
Looks like the biopic and the web series both won’t see the light of day till the Lok Sabha Elections are going on. Reportedly, it is also being said that Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam is the reason behind the ban on the web show Modi – Journey of a Common Man.
