Forging bonds that cannot be broken! What’s Love Got To Do With It? is a cultural melting pot as we see families of two vastly diverse backgrounds come together and share the richness of their culture with one another. Starring Emma Thompson, Lily James, and our very own Shabana Azmi, What’s Love Got To Do With It? Is set to premiere on Lionsgate Play on November 10th. This family movie showcases the profound nuances of arranged marriage in a way that has never been seen before. Helmed by the National Award-Winning Director Shekhar Kapur, the film sees Zoe Stevenson (Lily James) as she ventures into exploring the complexities of love while attending her best friend’s arranged marriage. Despite the constant support of her mother, Cath (Emma Thompson), will she find true love?

Talking about working with award-winning director Shekhar Kapur, Emma Thompson said, “He’s very playful. And yet, the most important thing for him is connections.. people making connections. So to playfully connect with these people is his great joy. He’ll fling us all onto the set and go ‘Well, okay, just respond to one another.’ He’ll give us a lot of leeway. And he understands that we’re all able to do that. I mean, that’s why he’s assembled this great cast.”

She further added, “He’s extremely respected, famous, and well known in his own part of the world and here, so he’s got this marvelous cast together and he’s very, very good at creating an atmosphere in which we can play. Also, he enjoys us, and you can’t say that that’s true of all directors.”
