Emraan Hashmi’s The Body remake to release by year-end

Emraan Hashmi has made quite a buzz among fans once again with the first looks for upcoming projects – the Netflix series Bard of Blood and the recently-wrapped film Rumi Jaffrey’s Chehre. However, the fans have been waiting to know more about his Hindi remake of the Spanish film The Body for which he had already completed the shooting last year. Reportedly, there’s good news for them as the suspense thriller may release in the last quarter of the year.

Revealing to a media house, one of the sources from the production said, “The principal shooting was wrapped up last July itself in over 40 days start-to-finish schedule in Mumbai and Mauritius but there were still some portions required to be shot. We filmed those sequences this April at Goregaon’s Filmistan Studio and it’s completed now. The film is in the post-production and will release in November or December.”

The murder mystery-horror film is the story of a detective who’s investigating the case of a woman’s body going missing from a morgue. The film was earlier supposed to release in June this year. Explaining the delay, the sources added, “Emraan was also shooting for Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan, and Rishi Kapoor who plays an investigative officer in the film is currently in New York for treatment so it would have been difficult for all to take out the time for its promotion in June.”

Besides Emraan, the thriller will also star the Made in Heaven actress Sobhita Dhulipala and South actress Vedika. It would be the Hindi directorial debut of Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph who has been a part of films like Drishyam that starred Ajay Devgn and Tabu.
