Here’s how Tiger, Ananya and Tara reacted to Student Of The Year 2 being tagged as a fantasy

Student Of The Year 2 is one of the most anticipated films of the year and the trailer has made it even harder for the audience to wait for its release. Starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, the film’s trailer got mixed reactions on its release. While many loved the sneak peek, many felt that it had come straight from fantasy land. Many memes also went viral since then. The three ‘students’ reacted to the same issue during the launch of their first song The Jaawani song, and here is what they said.

They said SOTY 2 is an escapist film and people should not think so much about the film being real. Ananya added, “I think it was really funny when people said ‘we didn’t have these uniforms in school’, even I didn’t. It is a larger-than-life film and you have to take the magic which comes with it.”

Talking about the representation of students who often go through bullying and body-shaming in school not being accurate as well, Ananya said they are not trying to be role-models. “When we are in school, we have a lot of pressure. There is a lot of stuff going on, so when people go to watch movies, they want to escape from that. We are providing an escape for them through this movie. We are not trying to be role-models, we are just trying to provide them a moment of happiness and joy to get away from stress.”
