IFFI OTT Awards 2023: Rajkumar Hirani, Prosenjit, Divya Dutta, Krishna DK and Utpal Borpujari to be part of the jury

The International Film Festival of India, Goa is all set to start today. The prestigious film festival in its 54th edition, has started OTT Awards from this year, to recognise excellence in OTT series and films. This event has established itself as one of the largest and most prestigious film festival in Asia.

The jury for OTT awards will have filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Krishna DK, Utpal Borpujari, Actors Divya Dutta and Prosenjit. OTT platforms like Prime Video, Netflix, Zee5 and others have also partnered with the film festivals for sessions, tech pavilions and gala Premieres this year.

“The OTT industry today is contributing towards the growth of the M&E sector of India by taking Indian stories to the world, nurturing young talent, producing world-class content, and earning honour and investments. Recognising these tectonic changes in the entertainment industry, the Best Web Series (OTT) Award has been introduced at the 54th IFFI with an aim to acknowledge, encourage and honour the flourishing content and its creators on OTT platforms. We embarked on this endeavour for the first edition of the Best Web Series (OTT) Award, IFFI 2023 with great appreciation from the industry where we received a total of 32 web series are received in 10 Indian languages from 15 OTT platforms” said Prithul Kumar, MD, NFDC and the Festival Director.

Details about the Jury Members:

1. Rajkumar Hirani (Chairperson)

Rajkumar Hirani is an acclaimed Indian film director, screenwriter, and editor, known for blockbuster films like ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ and ‘3 Idiots.’ His films have won several national and international awards, making him one of the most influential filmmakers in Indian cinema.

2. Divya Dutta

Divya Dutta is a versatile actor, author, and poet recognised for her exceptional work in over 100 feature films. She won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor (female) in 2018 and continues to be a powerhouse of talent in the Indian film industry.

3. Krishna DK

Krishna DK, a filmmaker of Indian origin based in the US, is known for his distinctive storytelling. His collaborations with Raj Nidimoru, including ‘Go Goa Gone’ and ‘A Gentleman,’ have garnered critical acclaim.

4. Prosenjit Chatterjee

Prosenjit Chatterjee is a highly regarded Indian actor and producer. His versatile career spans both commercial and critically acclaimed films, earning him accolades for movies like ‘Dosar’ (2006).

5. Utpal Borpujari

Utpal Borpujari, a film critic and journalist-turned-filmmaker, has won the National Award for Best Film Critic and Best Assamese Feature Film. His documentaries have received international recognition, and he has served on various film juries.
