Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Taapsee Pannu’s Mission Mangal is based on India’s space mission to Mars called Mangalyaan. While Akshay has been proactively promoting this film on social media, piquing further interest of the audience the makers release the film’s teaser today (July 9). But other than the good response the teaser got, what also caught some people’s attention was similarities this film had with R Madhavan’s South film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’s teaser.
While many on the internet pointed this out, let us tell you, R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect has been in the making since a very long time and the maker had released the teaser of the film in October 2018. The film is a trilingual and will release in Tamil, Telugu as well as Hindi. After the teaser of Mission Mangal dropped, netizens could not ignore but observe the similarities between the two. First of all both films are set in the same backdrop of a space mission. While Mission Mangal talks about the space operation India will always be proud of, Rocketry talks about the life of scientist Nambi Narayan and what the country had to pay just because he was falsely accused and jailed. Coming to similarities the first thing is the rocket shots that have very similar angles. Second is the slow-motion cinematography which gives similar vibes and thus making them look very same. But with both storylines being different, we are sure the comparisons will end soon.
Mission Mangal is set to release on August 15 this year, while there is no update on the release of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect which was supposed to release on January 25, 2019. For more updates and gossip, stay tuned to CineBlitz.
