Jitendra Joshi bags Best Actor Award at New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) for Godavari

Jitendra Joshi has been selected as the Best Actor of the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2022 after Geo Studios’ much awaited film ‘Godavari’ made its name in many prestigious national and international film festivals around the world. Therefore, the crown of ‘Godavari’ has once again been hoisted. Produced by Blue Drop Films and Jitendra Joshi Pictures and directed by Nikhil Mahajan, the film stars Jitendra Joshi, Vikram Gokhale, Nina Kulkarni, Sanjay Mone, Priyadarshan Jadhav and Gauri Nalawade in lead roles.

Regarding ‘Godavari’, director Nikhil Mahajan says, “‘Godavari’ has won many awards from all over the world. After participating in several film festivals, Godavari has been included in the top five films selected for screening at the now-nominated Cannes Film Festival. I am very happy that my dearest friend and actor Jitendra Joshi of this film has also been selected as the Best Actor of New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2022. Attempts have been made in ‘Godavari’ to unravel the entanglement between life and death. The film was shot in just seventeen days.”

The film has previously won several awards. Jitendra Joshi won Best Actor in ‘Iffi 2021’ and Nikhil Mahajan won Special Jury Award for Directing. The film ‘Godavari’ was selected as the opening film in 2022 at the New York Indian Film Festival. The world premiere in 2021 at the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Asia Pacific premiere at the New Zealand International Film Festival. Director Nikhil Mahajan has been adjudged the best director and Shamim Kulkarni has been adjudged the best photographer at the Pune International Film Festival.
