Kaabil director Sanjay Gupta to direct a gangster-thriller next? Read details inside

Director Sanjay Gupta, who is loved for his films like the Amitabh Bachchan-Sanjay Dutt- starrer action thriller Kaante, Kaabil, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Shootout At Wadala, is all set to direct yet another compelling story based on the events that were conducive in Bombay turning into Mumbai. This film will mark his return to the gangster-genre film after six years and we had exclusively told you that John Abraham has signed this film.

Now, going by the reports, the film will be set in 1980-90s and the casting process is underway. The film is expected to go on floors in July or August this year and will talk about the closedown of Bombay’s iconic textile mills, the assassination of a noted businessman, and how the underworld, the cops and the politicians changed Mumbai’s landscape. Confirming the news, the director took to his social media page and wrote, ” And in other news… I am ready with my next. Back doing what I do best.”
