Kalank: Varun Dhawan gives a sneak peek of how the mesmerising film was created

The country is already drenched in the beautiful colours of Kalank. Everyone is waiting with bated breath to experience Karan Johar’s lavish cinematic world. The team including Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sanjay Dutt have left no stones unturned to make the movie look magical. But apart from them, few more people were equally responsible for creating the mesmerising world of Kalank. Set in the 1940s, the film’s set design looks as authentic as possible and the credit for the same goes to none other than the director Abhishek Varman, the art director and rest of the crew members.

Just a while back, Varun shared a video on his Twitter timeline and gave us a sneak peek of the grand and glitzy world of Kalank. Along with the link, the B-town hunk wrote, “Zafar ki duniya 1000 se bhi zyaada logon ne sajai. Watch the creation of the #WorldOfKalank here – #Kalank @duttsanjay #AdityaRoyKapur @aliaa08 @sonakshisinha @MadhuriDixit @abhivarman.” In the video, Varun takes us on a tour of the huge Kalank sets and shows us all the places that his character Zafar hangs out at. You get to see his home, his workplace, a club, and a few markets which were all made from scratch for the film. Also, lights play an important role in making the setup look serene and Binod Pradhan, who worked on Devdas, reveals that he has never seen such a massive light setup on any film set. Javed Akhtar, Remo D’Souza and Sonakshi Sinha’s shocked reaction on the same can be seen in the video as well.

Abhishek Varman sure had a vision in his mind and the numerous models, thousands of workers and pure passion for filmmaking is what brought the mesmerising world of Kalank alive. From the miniature sets to the lights and the costumes, Bollywood’s best minds came together to build this world of Kalank and its outcome is worth a watch for sure.
