It’s Kangana Ranaut’s birthday today (March 23). The feisty star has had a great start to the year with a successful Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi that’s further cemented her name in Bollywood as a powerhouse performer. The film also marked her debut as a director. And now with films like Mental Hai Kya, Panga and Jaya / Thalaivi (the biopic on the life of late legendary actor-turned politician J Jayalalithaa) coming up, the actress has much to look forward to as well. Of course, the actress has also had her share of obstacles along the way, but nothing that could stop this queen. We caught up with the actress on her birthday and in an exclusive chat she told us her birthday plans.
The Manikarnika star revealed that as always, this birthday too will be spent doing the one thing she enjoys the most. “I love working on my birthday so that’s what I will be doing today too,” Kangana shared with us exclusively. The star is currently busy with Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya that also stars Rajkummar Rao, her Queen co-actor. As for playing the legendary politico J Jayalalithaa in her biopic, Kangana adds, “Of course I’m very happy to play a powerful and strong figure like her. It’s also a great honour and I’m thrilled.” This apart, the actress has been inundated with birthday wishes pouring in from the industry, family, friends, and her fans. “Yes, it’s a busy day,” chips in Kangana. Meanwhile, the pre-production work on the Jayalalithaa biopic is on. Jaya will trace the life and journey of Jayalalithaa, the actress right up to her rise in the political circles.
