Dangal fame Zaira Wasim’s decision of quitting Bollywood gave rise to a lot of debate. Her announcement came in as a shock for everyone and industry too came forward and expressed what they felt about it. While there was a certain section of people who lashed out at the 19-year-old for her decision, there are others who spoke in her support. Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel too has stepped in to talk in Zaira’s defense.

Rangoli in a Twitter thread conveyed how people should not lash out at Zaira, but understand her dilemma and let her pursue her own calling. She wrote, “People should stop lashing out at Zaira Wasim and try and understand her inner conflicts, what is a kid supposed to do if a religion forbids you from singing, dancing, imitating or depicting life? Rather than bullying her we must understand her dilemma…” Further connecting points she said, “in Hinduism especially Bhakti is all filled with devotional songs and dances, Kathak was a dance form for temples, Mugals brought it to darbars…” In her third tweet she added, “…we need to understand in Hinduism we need not follow any God we can form a God of our choice which is called Isht Devta which means Personal God, today’s day and age we need to personalise realigion and not follow what was established thousands years ago.”

Zaira on last Sunday (June 30) announced her disassociation with Bollywood and that she will have no ties with the industry. The actress even backed out from the promotions of her last film The Sky Is Pink. For more updates and news, stay tuned to CineBlitz.
