Kriti Sanon on live-in relationships

Kriti Sanon has been impressing the audience with her big screen outings from Dilwale to Bareily Ki Barfi. The actor’s characters like Bitti (BkB) made a huge impact and everyone was looking forward to her next performance. And she hasn’t disappointed at all. Her latest film Luka Chuppi with Kartik Aaryan hit the theatres last Friday (March 1) and the film is running successfully at the box office. It became Kriti’s one of the first movies to do a grand first-day business. Post the success, Sanon decided to celebrate this success with a small get-together of sorts. And as we caught up with the actress, she spoke about her journey, the movie’s success and lots more in a candid conversation.

When questioned about live-in relationships, Kriti said, “I feel that in growing cities like Mumbai live-in relationships are very common. But still, people judge a lot. Having said that, I feel getting to know each other before marriage, getting to know if two people are compatible with each other or not is also important. See it is always better to have clarity regarding a person. Only then can we easily decide if we want to get married or not. But because we have this social pressure of getting married and we think people will judge us if we live with someone out of marriage, we often land in a situation where relationships are ruined. So I feel that people should not give in and there is nothing bad in a live-in relationship.”

She even went on to discuss some taboo topics and shared her views on the Supreme Court’s law regarding consensual sex. It says that a couple who involves in any such activity and does not get married later, won’t be considered rape. Kriti holds strong opinions on these issues and says that consensual sex shouldn’t be considered as rape anyway. “Live-in or marriage, consensual sex isn’t a crime,” said Kriti.

Post Luka Chuppi, Kriti has Panipat next. Then there’s another Dinesh Vijan film Arjun Patiyala alongside Dilijit Dosanjh and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4.
