It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if we said that Alia Bhatt is on every filmmaker’s wish list. After all, she is one actress who has done diverse roles and pulled them off quite effortlessly. Her last film, Gully Boy, starred Ranveer Singh in the lead and though the rap drama majorly revolved around his character, Alia still stood out and gave a terrific performance irrespective of the screen time. No wonder, the actress is currently enjoying all the praise that’s coming her way along with the film’s success. And while we can’t for her to grace the big screen again, looks like the 25-year-old has bagged one more coveted project.

According to latest reports, Alia has been roped in for Arunima Sinha’s biopic. She is the first woman amputee-mountaineer and we hear that the film is based on her book which is titled Born Again On The Mountain: A Story of Losing Everything And Finding It Back. The biopic will be directed by Neeraj Ghaywan who gave us the award-winning film Masaan. Apparently, the Bhatt girl was the first choice for the film and she will start working on it after wrapping Karan Johar’s magnum opus Takht. Considering that a lot of stars are taking up biopic films lately, we are happy that now even Alia has one under her kitty. Also, since the actress loves doing challenging roles, it would be interesting to see how she fares in this one.

While this biopic will happen only next year, Alia has quite a few films lined up for release this year. She will next be seen in Kalank alongside Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Madhuri Dixit Nene. Then she has Brahmastra which will release at the end of the year and is undoubtedly one of her most anticipated films of 2019. Alia also has Karan Johar’s directorial venture Takht which will feature Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Today, the actress was all over the news for one more reason. She attended Kumbh Mela along with Ranbir and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji where the trio unveiled the logo of their film Brahmastra. The event was hosted on a grand level and it left everyone speechless including us. For more such news and gossip from the world of Bollywood, stay tuned to CineBlitz!
