Game of Thrones has been a long-standing show, having won countless awards and boasting perhaps the largest fan-base in the world. However, in episode 4 (The Last of the Starks) of the final season of the immensely popular show, it was noticed that a disposable coffee cup had made its way onto the table in front of Daenerys for a good four to five seconds. This prompted an explosion on Twitter, with fans pointing out the set design mistake and #Starkbucks trending on the internet as people assumed from the size and shape that the cup was from Starbucks.

Even the coffee chain themselves reacted on Twitter to the whole debacle saying, “TBH we’re surprised she didn’t order a dragon drink.”

However, after much curiosity as to what the show-makers itself had to say about the whole situation, the show’s network HBO tweeted, “The coffee cup that appeared in the fourth episode of the final season of the fantasy series ‘Game of Thrones‘ was a mistake.” And later a tweet was sent out from the official handle of GOT which said, “News from Winterfell. The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. #Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.” Now that indeed is an EPIC reply, no?

But social media was flooded with GOT memes nonetheless. While the blunder may have surprised many, the fans are still excited about the last two episodes of the final GOT season. Aren’t you guys? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates.
