Red Chillies Entertainment’s Betaal to start streaming live on Netflix from today

Red Chillies’ Entertainment’s web series starts streaming on Netflix today. Starring Vineet Kumar, this Zombie thriller is surely going to be a binge-watch. We share with you everything about the show and the characters.

Synopsis  Betaal

A remote village, which quickly becomes the arena of a breathless battle when a two-century-old East India Company Colonel, infected with the Betaal’s curse, and his battalion of blood-thirsty zombie redcoats are released from their tomb – attacking anything with a pulse. With the CIPD (Counter Insurgency Police Department) forces pitted against the undead army, hapless civilians are trapped in a gripping, edge-of-your-seat conflict.

Vikram Sirohi (Viineet Kumar)-is the second in command of the Baaz Squad of CIPD, is in thrall to his commanding officer, Tyagi, and follows her orders to clear villages of tribal people who are supposed Naxals. He suffers nightmares from his role in one such order, when Tyagi told him to kill a young girl who was the only witness to a CIPD massacre. Holed up in the old British barracks during the zombie attack, he is the first to recognize that the tribal people are telling the truth about the undead enemy the squad is facing.

Ahluwalia (Aahana Kumra)-is Sirohi’s friend and the toughest member of the Baaz Squad, sees Tyagi for what she is and urges Sirohi to do the right thing on more than one occasion. Ahlu has a burn scar on the right side of her face that is alluded to but never explained. She tries to ensure the safety of little Saanvi, daughter of the evil businessman Mudhalvan, in the barracks.

Tyagi (Suchitra Pillai)-is the commandant of the Baaz Squad, is fearless on the attack, whether facing armed opponents or liberal professors on a television news show. She has been accepting bribes to have her squad clear villages of alleged Naxals so that their land can be opened for development.

Mudhalvan (Jitendra Joshi)-Mudhalvan is an evil, greedy corporator and he’s ruthless in his pursuit of building a highway through the forest area at Betaal mountain.. He has worked his way up to his position and will do anything to save himself from slipping back into poverty even if it was immoral practice.

Puniya(Manjiri Pupala)– Puniya plays a tribal lady who has seen her village being torn apart and therefore holds a lot of angst against the CIPD. Circumstances put her in a position where she needs to join hands with the CIPD force even though they destroyed her village. She embodies a soldier spiriti and is the one truly fighting for humanity, for the country.

Saanvi (Sayna Anand)- Saanvi is Mudhalvan’s innocent and curious daughter. Suppressed by her father, Saanvi is forced to grow up as she witnesses terrible things happening around her. She is naturally scared, but has developed a bond with Sirohi & Ahlu and they’re the only people she trusts.
