Today (June 20), renowned music label Sony Music India announced a strategic partnership with Desi Hip Hop Inc. Desi Hip Hop Inc is a platform empowering South Asian hip-hop culture globally. It was revealed that through this partnership, Sony Music and Desi Hip Hop will work together to discover and develop a market for Indian and various hip-hop talents around the world.
Since Sony Music is known to be a frontrunner in this fast-growing genre, it is said that the label is committed to giving south Asian artists a global voice cutting through all the barriers. Creative Director, Raafat Ullah, said “We’ve been building this platform for over a decade to nurture and showcase South Asian Hip Hop talent and promote unity amongst our people around the world. We believed in the global impact of South Asian Hip Hop since day one.”
