While the teasers and trailer of Karan Johar’s Kalank are creating quite a stir in the industry and among fans for the stunning visuals, there’s also something else that has the people equally intrigued as well as thrilled. And that is Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit uniting once again on the big screen after 22 years. The duo was once considered Bollywood’s hottest onscreen jodi with films like Thaanedar and Khalnayak to name a few, that boasted of their sizzling chemistry. Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit were last seen together in Mahanta which was released in 1997. So, naturally the pair is being much-looked forward to already.
As for what took them so long to come together onscreen, buzz was that Madhuri was not too keen on working with Dutt as one may recall there were rumours of an alleged affair in their heydays. However, insiders tell us that there was no awkwardness from either actor. Contrary to the talks, it was in fact Madhuri who broke the ice on the sets. A source tells us, “It was Madhuri who started the conversation with Sanjay by asking about his kids and talking about her own children too. The duo has only a couple of scenes together in the film, but they really make it work. The two seemed quite cordial at the press conference with Sanjay saying that he hopes to work with her in more films.” Well, that’s what the fans hope for too.
As for Kalank, Sanjay Dutt plays a strict patriarch Balraj Chaudhry, while Madhuri plays the enchanting yet mysterious Bahaar Begum. There’s also excitement with regards to the storyline of the film and fans are speculating about how the two characters will play out in the film. Of what we hear, Madhuri and Sanjay have both aced their roles and the trailers have already shown what a visual treat the film is going to be like. Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank also stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. How excited are you about seeing Sanjay and Madhuri onscreen again?
