12th Fail inspiration State IGP Manoj Sharma – the epitome of humility at star-studded BFJ Awards event
The BFJA Power Brands Management also honoured a few senior noted journalists with a Roaring Lions Award trophy and Certificate

In an otherwise glamour-glitz Power Brands BFJA Awards recent event, it was the modest demeanor of Hon’ble State IGP Manoj Kumar Sharma that was admired by the invited elite audience. As is known, charismatic top cop Sharma-jee’s real-life resilience and success story, has inspired the recent super-hit movie ‘12th Fail’ directed by maverick genius (BFJA Awardee) Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Which had talented actor (BFJA Awardee) Vikrant Massey brilliantly enacting the IPS officer Manoj-jee’s on-screen role. In complying with protocol codes, the topmost-ranking State senior police officer, Manoj-jee did not come up on stage but preferred to gracefully accept only a floral bouquet, even as he stood up amidst the appreciative audience.
The recent star-studded biennial BFJA-2024 “Power Brands-Roaring Lions” Awards event was marked by the starry presence of a galaxy of award-winning Bollywood celebs and also several distinguished senior film journalists-editors-critics (which includes this writer). Who formed the Panel-Jury and as curators they decided on the Awardees, The presence of BFJA ‘Legend Awardee’ dignified Shabana Azmi (awesome in both movies Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Ghoomer) was the cynosure of all eyes. With her dazzling entry, BFJA awardee ‘style-icon’ actress-dancer graceful Malaika Arora elevated the oomph quotient of the event.
“Through an honest, transparent process of selection, we aim to recognize and reward genuine merit, dedication, impactful acting and technical excellence and of course the exemplary inspiring power of resilience in Bollywood. We do not insist on the physical presence of the Awardees at the event,” said dynamic filmmaker Dr. Arindam Chaudhury the creative force behind the Power Brands BFJA ‘Roaring Lions’ Awards.
The celeb Power-Brands BFJA Celeb Awardees besides Shabana and Malaika also included Divya Dutta, Esha Deol, Tanishaa Mukherjee (of ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’ fame), Shama Sikander, Manav Kaul, Urvashi Rautela, Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Madhurima Tuli, ‘Gadar-2’ team comprising director Anil Sharma, Utkarsh Sharma and prime villain Manish Wadhwa, actress Manjari Fadnnis, Yash Pandit, Shweta Pandit , Shraddha Pandit, model-influencer Piyusha Sharma, ‘Animal’ composer Harshvardhan and many more popular star-artistes.
The BFJA Power Brands Management also honoured a few senior noted journalists and me with a Roaring Lions Award trophy and Certificate especially for me having completed four decades of dedicated excellence in film-journalism. A worthy validation that was crown-topped when both Shabana Azmi-jee and Malaika Arora personally complimented me— it was all the more motivating.
