After his blunt remarks on film awards at a recent press conference, Salman Khan continued his witty remarks with ease at the grand trailer launch of his Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KKBKKJ) in Mumbai on April 10. Khan, who was in his usual laidback swag, was of course at the center of attention at the trailer launch. Although questions were thrown at everyone from the cast, Khan managed to pass one-liners in his trademark mix of Hindi and English.

When the emcee remarked that Khan looked in his best shape in a long time, the superstar was quick to say, “Is that a compliment?” “This effort belongs to dengue and covid. If you want to build a physique before the climax of a film, dengue aur covid hona bahut zaroori hai,” Khan quipped.

Talking about KKBKKJ, “I hope people will like the film. It’s a typical Hindustani film. Take any action film and put Sooraj’s film like Hum Aapke Hain Koun or romance like Bhansali’s film into it. Their films don’t have as much violence as our film.”

When Khan’s co-star Pooja Hegde shared her excitement about KKBKKJ saying, “In every film, you always feel like it’s your first film. The excitement is there.” Khan remarked, “And it could be your last as well.” He later added, “She is phenomenal in the film, outstanding.”

Olympic medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh plays a negative role in KKBKKJ. The boxer-turned-actor was all praise for the Bollywood Superstar with whom he has quite a lot of action scenes in the film.

Interrupting Singh’s praise, Khan joked saying, “He used to hit me with good timing. He used to think that he was in the (boxing) ring. I taught him, aise ‘nahin’ maarna. I wasn’t reacting in front of him didn’t mean I was not in pain. I had to tell him ‘Body ka har part aur muscle palak (spinach) bann chuka hai. Thoda aaram se.’

KKBKKJ is a remake of the Tamil film Veeram (2014) and is directed by Farhad Samji. The Housefull franchise fame director said, “Directors ko actors Bhagya (fortune) se milte hain aur Salman Khan saubhagya (great fortune) se milte hain.”

To which Salman jokingly replied, “If this film doesn’t work, he’ll blame it on me. he’ll say it’s because of this man, the original script is still with me.”

In KKBKKJ, Khan reunites with his Tere Naam co-star Bhumika Chawla who made her Hindi debut with the film. Bhumika shared how everyone around was shocked when she called Salman ‘Salman Bhai’ on the sets of Tere Naam.

Khan revealed that although it was fun shooting for Tere Naam, his interactions with Bhumika were limited to formalities. “Hi, how’s it going, lunch, pack up, bye, take care. The next day the same pleasantries would be exchanged. It was the same on KKBKKJ,” the 57-year-old star quipped.

“I still feel that I am that schoolgirl who goes up to him and says ‘Good morning, Sir’,” said Bhumika who is paired opposite Venkatesh Daggubati in the film.

The film has a long list of supporting cast members including Jassie Gill, Shehnaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, and Vinali Bhatnagar.

Khan who was last seen in a knockout cameo in Pathaan assured the young actors about their roles in the film. He said, “I’ll show the film to you very soon. Don’t go by trailer, there are more than one or two shots of yours in the film.”

The most celebrated bachelor of Bollywood also revealed that he noticed a ‘chemistry’ between two individuals during the filming of KKBKKJ. “I noticed a chemistry between two people during the shooting of this film. But neither of them is trying to take it forward. The vibes are exchanged but from a distance,” revealed Khan.

Produced by Salman Khan Films and distributed by Zee Studios, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will be released in cinemas on 21 April 2023.
