10 Indian actors who lent their voice to popular international movies and shows

From Akshay Kumar to Bhuvan Bam, Here’s a glimpse into the world of ten talented Indian actors who have taken on the challenge of dubbing for beloved international productions.

Tiger Shroff – Spider-Man: Homecoming:

Known for his remarkable stunts and agility, Tiger Shroff added a dash of Indian excitement to Peter Parker’s web-swinging adventures. Tiger Shroff is loved by his young fans. The War actor lent his voice for the character of Spiderman in the marvel film franchise – Spider-Man Homecoming.

Varun Dhawan – Captain America: Civil War:

Varun Dhawan stepped into the shoes of the First Avenger Captain America, providing the Hindi voice for Chris Evans in the film. The icon Varun Dhawan lent his voice for Steve Rogers aka Captain America in the Hindi version of the colossal superhero action flick.

Bhuvan Bam – Takeshi’s Castle:

The popular content creator and actor brought his unique charm to the hilarious Japanese game show, making the challenges even more entertaining for Indian audiences. Bhuvan is the voice of the new season of Takeshi’s Castle. The popular 90s Japanese show made a comeback on Amazon Prime Video with Bhuvan’s character Titu Mama being the ‘funny’ narrator.

Arjun Kapoor – The Boys:

Arjun Kapoor has lent his voice to the Hindi dubbed version of Amazon Prime’s The Boys 2. Arjun lent his voice for the protagonist Billy Butcher played by Karl Urban in the dark superhero series The Boys. Arjun’s Hindi voice brought a unique charm and an impressive character arc to the character of Butcher.

Sonakshi Sinha – Rio 2:

The talented actress lent her voice to the vibrant and feisty jewel bird, Jewel, adding her own spirited touch to the character. The Bollywood actor has not just dubbed, but also sung a few lines also and left a long lasting impression on the Hindi audience.

Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra – Frozen:

The Chopra sisters joined forces to dub for the lovable sisters, Elsa and Anna, making the magical tale of “Frozen” resonate with Indian audiences. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Parineeti Chopra dubbed for the Hindi version of Hollywood animated movie ‘Frozen 2′. While Priyanka dubbed for Elsa, Parineeti  lent her voice for Anna in the film that traces the characters’ pasts and pieces together with their present.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Maleficent:

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s enigmatic voice brought to life the iconic Disney character Maleficent, making the character even more captivating. One of the most beloved global icons and India’s eternal beauty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined the Disney Universe, as she lent her voice for the central character ‘Maleficent’ in the Hindi, voiced by Angelina Jolie in the original version of the much awaited sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil!

Ranveer Singh – Deadpool:

Ranveer Singh’s energetic and irreverent style perfectly in the Hindi version of this R-rated superhero film. Its Hindi version has been dubbed by  Ranveer Singh. Ranveer has lent his voice to Ryan Reynolds Deadpool in the Hindi version of Hollywood film Deadpool 2. The film tells the story of an adult superhero with a twisted sense of humour.

Rajkummar Rao – The Boys:

Rajkummar Rao’s talent extended to the world of TV as he provided the voice for the complex and menacing character Homelander in the hit series “The Boys.” Rajkummar’s voice in the Hindi dubbed version added an extra layer of fondness and relatability to the series for the Hindi audience.

Akshay Kumar – Transformers: Dark of the Moon:

Akshay Kumar, known for his action-packed roles, lent his voice to the heroic Optimus Prime, adding an Indian touch to the legendary Autobot. The actor voiced the leader of the Autobots for the Hindi version of blockbuster Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Akshay took the dubbing role for his son Aarav and did it for free, saying this wasn’t a business deal and that he felt really lucky to have the opportunity.
