Breezy t-shirts and long holidays; Celebs get summer-ready

With hopefully no more lockdowns in the future, we are looking forward to a summer involving a lot of outings in the city, events, and traveling! Here is how these celebrities are planning to spend their summers!

Charrul Malik

Well this summer is going to be very easy-breezy and cool because the situations have normalized and we are inhaling. I am pretty excited. I don’t have many travel plans in summer but if you want to go to Australia, and other parts of the World where temperatures are low then it’s really fun. There are so many places close to Mumbai like Lonavala and some good spots where we can go. I haven’t explored the places around Mumbai, so I will explore that. Despite, being in Mumbai for so many years, I have never been to such places. But this time, I am going to explore everything. Plus, events are also on my lists. People have started approaching me for events. My summer style is very simple, less makeup, more cotton and floral stuff, and some breathable stuff in which you will feel fresh. I would avoid black since I don’t go for blacks at all in summers. Even in night parties, you won’t see me in black. My Funda is to feel fresh and let others feel fresh.

The last two years, I hardly went out from my house. No gym, no party, no vacations, I avoided my shoots also. I just started gym in March 2022, now COVID 19 is a little controlled and I hope we won’t face Corona or Delta. I wanted to go hill station for travelling apart from that I did not get the chance to wear my fashionable stylish clothes. I used to go outside in whatever I was wearing at home. But now, I am ready to wear my colourful clothes. This summer I will try some Goa type of clothes to make my life colourful and positive.

First, I’m planning to buy some summery and cool, stylish dresses with white silver jewellery. Also, I am going to get a good haircut for summer. I want to celebrate this summer with my daughter because last summer she was very small, so this time I will take her to the beach side.

As we all know Mumbai is already heating up day by day, in this kind of weather I prefer cotton clothes more as suggested by my mother. But all the way I love styling myself so sometimes it’s better to experiment also. My wardrobe is full of clothes of different type so depending on the occasion and my mood, I will style myself. My go-to style this summer will surely be A-line dresses or loose t-shirts/pants which are easy in styling and less time-consuming compared to others if I am in a hurry.

I seriously hope that there is no lockdown and the government has done a fabulous job in controlling COVID in our country. I am very optimistic about it. As far as outings are concerned, I would be travelling outside for my shoot. I might be travelling to Haryana and Kerala for the shoot of Harpul Ki Mohini. Definitely, I would be wearing some light cotton or linen clothes. I will maintain distance from lycra or body-hugging clothes. The loose fit is what I am looking at. I would prefer wearing slip-ons and open footwear. Of course, I would have lot of fluids throughout the day. The solid intake would be less now since the summers are almost here. I will keep myself hydrated with water, nimbu mani and ORS if shooting happens outdoors.

I have been really missing the film festivals that I used to frequent with my films. Now that I have three films in the pipeline for festival admissions and releases, Oxygen, Country blind and the Singapore Big Production – Before Life After Death. I am really looking forward to going to Cannes in the month of May and then following up with all the wonderful festivals that happen in India. Fingers crossed, I am also looking forward to some awesome shoots, travelling in exotic parts of India. This is something I am seriously going to enjoy and love since the situation has eased a little bit.

Summer dressing has always been more difficult for me. Winter is simple and less fussy. You can just pile on layers on layer until you have something that looks really amazing or you can wear anything inside with a stunning jacket or a coat and that will do the trick. Summer, on the other hand, is a tricky game. You want to keep it easy breezy yet stylish. The weather is heating up in Mumbai already and the work-from-home style trend, which I refuse to part ways with, is comfortable workwear.

My summer style will include a lot of bright colors, bold patterns, and interesting textures. Having said that comfort is always my first priority and I do try to experiment with my style while keeping it comfortable. Since Summer is a great time to try new hobbies, outings and also travelling, I guess linen-blend T-shirts are exemplary because they provide a refined look, while adding a touch of texture. For events to attend maybe it’s time to experiment with new trousers, suits and belts.
