Breaking! Parineeti Chopra replaces Shraddha Kapoor in Saina Nehwal’s biopic

After much delay, the Shraddha Kapoor starrer biopic on Saina Nehwal had finally picked up some pace. Regardless of the many reasons, Shraddha got back to the sets of the film and shot for a few scenes as well. In fact, the actress immediately started her prep for the film after recovering from dengue. But looks like her tight schedule for her next has made her opt out of the film. Yes, we won’t get to see Shraddha in Saina Nehwal’s biopic anymore. But don’t get disheartened, for, Namaste England actress Parineeti Chopra has been roped in to play Shraddha’s role.

According to a news report, producer Bhushan Kumar and team wanted to wrap up the biopic by this year-end for an early 2020 release. Going ahead with the project and roping in Parineeti was a decision taken by mutual consent. “We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics,” added Bhushan. Talking about the biopic, Parineeti also sounds quite elated, “I was dying to do a sports-based film. It’s a part of my personality as an actor that I have never explored, and I am so happy that I get to portray a strong and powerful girl like Saina! She has put our country on the world map and I excited to put in all the training and hard work that comes with learning the game of Badminton and portraying Saina on screen,” the actress said in a statement. As for Shraddha, she already has four big projects in her kitty. She is a part of Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer 3D. She is currently shooting for Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s Chhichhore. The much-anticipated Baaghi 3 starring Shraddha and Tiger Shroff is also expected to go on floors soon. Apart from this, she is also a part of the action-thriller Saaho starring Prabas, which releases in August. So, while Shraddha’s plate is full with projects we understand how hard it would have been for her to let the Saina biopic slip out.
