Priyanka Chopra has been an inspiration to many since the very beginning of her career. Her grace and determination to break the glass ceiling and reach the top has given her the position which she adorns today. The 36-year-old actress has penned down an empowering open letter for all the ladies out there, ahead of International Women’s Day. It’s about the app Bumble and its success in India. Read on to know more.
For those who are unaware, Bumble is a chatting and connecting app that connects strangers, but it isn’t necessarily a dating app. Using this app, you can connect with people as friends or for a commercial purpose. The twist here is that only women can make the first move and not men. Priyanka in her open letter talks about how the app makers were first skeptical about bringing Bumble to India as people might not accept it. But the tables have turned, and it is the Indian audience that’s leading on Bumble.
Revealing the stats from the app, Priyanka wrote, “So, we brought Bumble to India…and boy, have you all proved them wrong! In just a few months, you’ve made more than 15 lakh first moves. You’re meeting good people all around you, confidently finding matches and having conversations. You’re using Bumble for so much more than dating – 60% of you use it to connect in multiple ways, whether for dates, friends, or business. In fact, you send twice as many messages as other women using Bumble elsewhere in the world!” Scroll down to read Priyanka’s complete letter.
Apps that let strangers connect with strangers are still a taboo in India and are considered unethical, but Bumble stands for a different take and finally, the audience is understanding that. Priyanka is an influencer and she has been doing some great work apart from her acting career. She is the goodwill ambassador for the UNICEF and endorses many other initiatives.
