Bollywood will stop shooting to show solidarity and to condemn Phulwama attack

The shocking Pulwama terror attack has taken everyone aback! From politicians to actors, as well as people across the world stand united after the disgusting and cowardly suicide attack on the Indian CRPF personnel. While everyone has already condemned the attack, there is something else that is being planned. From what we hear, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the nodal body for all cine employees, has called upon Bollywood to observe a black day tomorrow (February 17). Not only will work be halted, but everyone will also gather to show solidarity and condemn the Pulwama attack. They will also pray for the martyred soldiers.

FWICE President B.N. Tiwari has confirmed this development. As he revealed to us exclusively, “The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has requested everyone observe a black day. Work in studios, on edit tables, and at shoot locations will be halted from 2 pm to 4 pm tomorrow (February 17). This is being done to show solidarity. During this period, the FWICE along with members of all the 24 crafts will assemble outside Film City (Goregaon, Mumbai) to condemn the Pulwama attack.” This is truly a fantastic initiative and move to show that we are together with the security forces! From what we hear, the shooting of Salman Khan’s Bharat, Amitabh Bachchan – Virendra Sehwag’s ad and several TV serials will be affected. But they have all unanimously agreed to the request and feel this unity is required in such a tragic period. What do you guys feel?

For those of you who don’t know, a (JeM) terrorist conducted a suicide attack on the CRPF jawans on February 14. He drove a car full of explosives into a bus ferrying the personnel. More than 38 soldiers lost their lives in this attack that took place in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. It brought back the memories of the deadly Uri attack that took place a couple of years ago. We pray for all the soldiers who lost their lives. In the meantime, stay tuned to CineBlitz for Bollywood news.
