Shah Rukh Khan to be awarded honorary doctorate by the La Trobe University in Australia

Ruling our hearts with his films for years, Shah Rukh Khan is also known for his efforts in supporting underprivileged children and being a women’s equality advocate through MEER Foundation. Recognising his amazing work outside the film world, the Australian University La Trobe is honouring the superstar with an Honorary Doctorate at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

Shah Rukh has been felicitated and applauded across the globe for his contribution to the society through his philanthropy organisation MEER Foundation. Now the La Trobe University is honouring him with the highest accolade. Talking about the same and expressing his happiness, SRK said, “I’m proud to be conferred with a great University like La Trobe which has a long-standing relationship with Indian culture and impressive track record in advocating for women’s equality. I feel truly privileged to receive this Honorary Doctorate and I would like to sincerely thank La Trobe for choosing to recognise my achievements in such a humbling way.”

La Trobe will present SRK with his Honorary Doctorate ‪on August 9, at its Melbourne campus in Bundoora. King Khan will be present at the opening ceremony of the IFFM where he will be presenting Rima Das’s directorial film Bulbul Can Sing to the Australian audience.
