Shannon K’s next outing in Bollywood Hindi-Vindi was announced recently. The actress is going to share the screen space with Neena Gupta & Mihir Ahuja who will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Archies. Shannon K made an incredible mark at the Cannes Film Festival with her looks and was also the only Indian artist invited for the premiere of Indiana Jones. Taking a step forward in acting, she will be seen in Hindi-Vindi. The announcement was made recently and here’s how Shannon K is feeling about her incredible new start.

Shannon K quips, “I’m happy to be placed with such experienced actor like Neena Gupta. Looking forward to learning more. The shoot will start later this year in Sidney and my character is Rihanna, a Muslim Australian girl. I’ll share more details as the story unfolds. Currently focusing on filming for a film in Los Angeles.”

Shannon’s character revolves around Rihanna, a Muslim Australian-Indian girl. Mihir Ahuja loves her but there’s much more depth to be unfolded. She’s close to Mihir’s grandma Neena Gupta. The movie gives a sneak peek into the intergenerational language barriers and love between a visiting grandmother and her Australian-Indian grandchild, Kabir. The film follows Kabir’s transformative journey as he learns Hindi through the fusion of Western and Indian music. It stars Neena Gupta as the grandmother, Mihir Ahuja as Kabir, and Shannon K. as Rihanna.

The film, directed by Ali Sayed, co-written by Ali Sayed and Jay Sharma, promises an authentic portrayal of heritage and family bonds, and will be shot in Australia. Produced by Australian film production 24Six films, India-based Shah Entertainment Media (SEM) and supported by Screen Australia, the film will release in May 2024.
