Sooraj R. Barjatya’s directorial next titled Uunchai starring Amitabh Bachchan and Parineeti Chopra slated for an October release

Rajshri Productions (P) LTD in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Boundless Media presents Uunchai. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Sarika, Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra and Nafisa Ali among others, Uunchai is written and directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya and produced by Rajshri Productions (P) LTD, Mahaveer Jain and Natasha Malpani Oswal. Uunchai is Rajshri Productions (P) Ltd.’s 60th film production and director Sooraj R. Barjatya’s 7th directorial venture.

The storyline of Uunchai is inspirational and is about how we can challenge ourselves, change the impossible into possible, never mind our age. It is a story of inspiration, where there is no age limit to do what we like… whether it is to learn a new language, a new gadget, or climb to the Everest base camp!

SOORAJ BARJATYA – DIRECTOR

In 1989, Rajshri family’s third generation made history. Under the direction of Shri Sooraj R Barjatya, Rajshri became the trendsetter for a whole generation with films like ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ – a simple teenage romance – which was the biggest hit of the year and went on to win six Filmfare awards; ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ – a film that managed to rewrite history by being the highest grossing film of all time in Indian cinema and started the trend of glamorous musicals in India. ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, still considered the quintessential family film across all the generations, it was one of the biggest star cast ensembles of its time. ‘Vivah’ is lauded for being one of the simplest and yet most profound romances till date.

‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ marked the return of superstar Salman Khan’s most beloved character – Prem and holds the record of being in the top five bracket of opening day collections. Along with being a super successful filmmaker, Shri Sooraj R. Barjatya is known for being one of the finest producers. His being a writer, director and producer himself, amplifies the importance of him helming a film.

Natasha Malpani Oswal is the founder of Boundless Media, a creative house that makes shows and films for a new India. Natasha holds an MBA from Stanford, and Masters degrees from Oxford and Cambridge. Natasha is also the author of two popular poetry books- Boundless and Reinvention, that encourage a young India to find its own voice and identity. She previously ran Dice Media, and was an Investment Director at a $1 billion impact investing fund in London.
