Music Composer and Singer Sujeet Shetty who has predominantly lend his voice in Love Ki Ghanti from Besharam and has composed songs for hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films has recently composed music for web series Jehanabad- Of Love and War on SonyLiv with his partner artistes Sumanta Das and Astha Jagiasi.

Sharing about his working experience he says,”Rajeev Barnwal and I became acquainted when we were involved in the production of the movie Besharam, helmed by Abhinav Kashyap. I sang the song Love ki Ghanti, which was penned by Barnwal. We established a good rapport from that point onward. Working on Jehanabad with him was an invigorating creative experience. As Barnwal wrote the story and screenplay, he had a specific idea of what kind of music he wanted, and compositions began to emerge naturally.”

Speaking about the songs in Jehanabad Sujeet shares,”The song Lal Salam, written by Astha Jagiasi, has the potential to be a revolutionary anthem. It is perfectly matched to the story and screenplay of Jehanabad and is beautifully sung by Abhdesh Goswamy. O Piya is a romantic song in Raag Yaman, and it assists in propelling the story forward. Both the songs support the title Jehanabad Of Love and War. Kahin Kuch Toota, sung by Pratibha Singh Baghel, expresses the pain of a lost love. Other songs, such as Falling in Love, Aaj Siya Ji Ke Ubtan and Ghumadat Aave, were all composed and arranged by Sujeet Shetty-Sumanta Das”.

Talking about the process of creating songs for this show he tells,”When constructing any song, we must always take into account the context. Ambiance and flavor of the tale, as well as the dialect associated with the characters’ region of origin, are paramount. Crafting an engaging melody and meaningful lyrics, along with a modern presentation, and notably, creating an original score without borrowing from existing works, requires a significant effort. As such, talent combined with diligent effort are the keys to achieving excellent results.”

His previous work also includes hindi movies like Humdum, UNNS, Unforgettable; Kannada movies such as Jothegaara, Shree Mokshaa, Alone; Tamil film Kariyavoram and Telugu movie titled Leela.
