After Chhatrapati Shivaji’s death, Chhatrapati Sambhaji leads the Marathas. Bahadur Khan, Subhedar of Burhanpur, with Kakar Khan, levies tax on people. Sambhaji raids the city, saving people from unjust rule.

Shivrayancha Chhava (Marath) is the story about the looting of Burhanpur by Shivaji Maharaj’s (Chinmay Mandlekar) son, Sambhaji Maharaj (Bhushan Patil). It’s an attempt to bring a tale of valor to the big screen, giving an idea about the greatness of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. In the past, Digpal Lanjekar has presented us a work like Pawankhind and has raised the bar high for himself. This is the second film on the historical figure in as many weeks.

The film starts with Sambhaji Maharaj’s coronation ceremony at Raigad. After the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Aurangzeb, and other evil emperors among Mughals presume that the state of Swarajya led by Shivaji Maharaj would be destroyed, but little did they know that already a new force had risen to protect it, in the form of Sambhaji Maharaj. After his coronation takes place, he decides to attack Aurangzeb’s one of the dearest territories, Burhanpur, and loot all the treasury.

When Emperor Aurangzeb has Kakar Khan mercilessly tortures the people for the jizya tax, in order to defend the commoners, the Maratha sword is raised against the jewel of Deccan – Burhanpur. It is no wonder that the film manages to recreate the opulence and intrigue in the halls of both the Mughal and the Maratha courts.

The action direction is brilliantly executed, where each fight and stunt adds to the audience immersion. The fight sequences in particular are performed brilliantly by Bhushan Patil and Abhijeet Shwetachandra. Mrinal Kulkarni as Rajamata Jijau gives a noteworthy performance. The action direction is brilliantly executed, where each fight and stunt adds to the audience immersion.

To sum up, Shivrayancha Chhava is a Marathi movie that takes audiences on a thrilling journey through the historical events surrounding Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s reign and his valiant efforts to protect his people from Moghul tyranny. Directed by Digpal Lanjekar, this action-packed drama captures the essence of 17th-century India, where power struggles and political intrigue were commonplace. With a talented cast and crew, Shivrayancha Chhava promises an immersive cinematic experience that delves into the heart of Maratha history.
