Gearing up for the release of his next film, Total Dhamaal, director Indra Kumar feels that slapstick comedy still exists and the films that are being termed as the ‘new age comedy’ are the ones that he has been doing for a long time. Kumar, who has dabbled in various genres over the years, has lately been making only comedy films and has even found an audience for it. Though few of films failed to work their magic on the big screen, Kumar has certainly created a name for himself in the comedy space.

As for the horror comedy genre, the filmmaker believes he was the first one to introduce it in Bollywood. When asked about Golmaal Again and Stree, the two films that recently did exceptionally well at the box office, Kumar said, “The comedy films that are trending right now are slapstick, Stree was not a reality, it was fictionalised. I did a similar concept long back in Great Grand Masti; I got the horror comedy genre first in Bollywood. It was bad luck that the film leaked. Technically, I was the first one to bring the horror comedy in the industry but to my horror it got leaked.”

Coming back to his adventure comedy Total Dhamaal, the trailer of the film was unveiled not too long ago and it garnered positive response from the audience on social media. The makers have also released few songs from their film and they too have received good response. Total Dhamaal is the third film in the Dhamaal franchise which stars Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Javed Jaffrey and Esha Gupta

Since Madhuri, Anil and Ajay are the new addition to the franchise, it will be exciting to see them in this comic caper. Also, since the dhak dhak girl is working with Anil after a long time, Total Dhamaal would be a treat for their fans.
