Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (February 14, Valentine’s Day). The movie is one of the most-exciting films of the year. It showcases the life of a struggling kid from the slums and how he becomes a huge name in the world of rap and hip-hop. His struggle with his family and society’s approval and his relationships are also highlighted. This has made people draw comparisons with Indian rap sensations, Naezy and DIVINE’s life. And the former agrees. Naezy clarifies that the movie is inspired from their life, but isn’t a biopic!
But has Naezy got a royalty from the Gully Boy makers for his story? From what we hear, he was given a certain amount for taking rights of his story to be told through the movie. So when we met Naezy for a chat, we asked him if that was the case. Not divulging any information, the rapper mentioned to us exclusively, “I know that we are going to be credited in the movie as ‘inspired by Naezy and DIVINE.’ Apart from that, we (me and Zoya Akhtar) have a good understanding about things.
