Himansh Kohli: Meri Tarah is a tale of a classic love triangle

Yaariyan actor Himansh Kohli’s latest music video, which also features Gautam Gulati and Heli Daruvala, is out now. The Boondi Raita actor features in the video of Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series’ Meri Tarah, which is sung by Jubin Nautiyal and Payal Dev. He describes Meri Tarah as a tale of a classic love triangle. “But it’s in an Indian set up where families get involved, people get hitched to the person they don’t love. There’s some mystery to it,” he said about the video that was shot in September 2021 in multiple locations of Rajasthan like Sambhar Lake and Subodh Palace.

He has been doing some great music videos since last year. “There’s only one criteria that has always worked for me, and it is my gut feeling,” he said.

He and Jubin have given smashing hits before also. “Baba and I are super comfortable with each other, and I think it reflects in the music videos that we do. We also have an atmosphere of honest feedback to each other which refines our craft even further,” he said about teaming up with the singer with whom he worked on songs including Bewafa Tera Muskurana.

He finds music videos short, experiential and something that can satisfy him creatively. “What more can you want? I look forward to shooting music videos, but I like a good mix of movies and music videos,” he said.

For him, Heli and Gautam are real sweethearts. “Heli and I are working together after 11 years since Channel V’s Humse Hai Life. This time she was also my on-set nurse when I injured myself. Gautam is an amazing actor to work with, and I had almost no trouble getting in sync with him,” he said.
