VYRL Originals, the original creators of the quintessential ‘monsoon song,’ announced the release of their latest single, “Barsaat Aa Gayi,” as they embrace the arrival of the rains in 2023. Following the resounding success of their previous chart-toppers, “Baarish” (2020), “Baarish Ban Jaana” (2021), and “Baarish Aayi Hain” (2022), VYRL Originals presents their highly anticipated monsoon track for this year.

“Barsaat Aa Gayi” is composed by the immensely talented duo Javed Mohsin, with evocative lyrics penned by wordsmith Kunal Vermaa. The song is brought to life by the stunning voices of Shreya Ghoshal and Stebin Ben, who impeccably convey the romance of this enchanting melody.

This track also reunites the dynamic on-screen duo of Hina Khan and Shaheer Sheikh, who captivated audiences in their previous collaboration, “Baarish Ban Jaana” which became a runaway success. The chemistry between Hina Khan and Shaheer Sheikh is palpable once again in the video, leaving a lasting impact on viewers.

“Barsaat Aa Gayi” weaves a stirring tale of love and separation, beautifully capturing the memories of a cherished past while accepting an unwanted reality. As two long-separated lovers meet after years, audiences will be privy to the emotions that unfold between them. The heartfelt lyrics resonate with the joy of rediscovering lost love, while the melodic composition effortlessly transports listeners to a world of warmth, comfort, and romance experienced in the rains.

“The beauty of Barsaat Aa Gayi lies in its simple arrangement by Javed Mohsin and the evocative lyrics by Kunaal. I love how the song connects the rains with the arrival of your loved one. The hook line : Tum Jo Aaye Yaara Toh, Barsaat Aa Gayi – is such a poetic simple thought. After the success of Zihaal-E-Miskin with Javed Mohsin, I hope this becomes two in a row”, says the queen of Hindi music Shreya Ghoshal.

The voice behind many unforgettable romantic songs, Stebin Ben said “The rainy season surely calls for all things romance and you want the perfect song to go with it in your playlist, right?  Barsaat Aa Gayi is the one to listen to this season. I am also reuniting with Javed Mohsin, Kunaal Verma and the unparalleled Shreya Ghoshal after last year’s successful Baarish Aayi Hain, and I am hoping our dream run continues with this one.”

Speaking about the song, Hina Khan says “The rains evoke several memories to me and is a time I associate with warmth and romance. After the runaway success of Baarish Ban Jaana, Barsaat Aa Gayi seemed like a perfect monsoon reunion with my friend Shaheer and the VYRL team. How fortunate am I that the great Shreya Ghoshal is doing the vocals for this song. It’s got such a catchy riff, and I am waiting eagerly to see the audience reaction to this monsoon track.”

Calling monsoon his favourite season, Shaheer Sheikh says “My relationship with monsoon songs goes back to the superhit Baarish Ban Jaana which I did with my close friend Hina way back in 2021. This is a reunion I was looking forward to and it couldn’t have been a better song than Barsaat Aa Gayi. Stebin ben and Shreya Ghoshal’s vocals, the soothingly melodic composition of Javed Mohsin, and Kunal Verma’s words makes it a perfect monsoon song of the year. Here’s hoping it becomes everybody’s new default romantic rain song.”

Music composer duo Javed-Mohsin who are known for their beautiful melodies, share their inspiration behind the song, “The rains are one of our biggest inspirations. The monsoon season represents so many things- from passion, romance, drama to poetry. Keeping in synergy with the same thought, ‘Barsaat Aa Gayi’ equates the rains with the rekindling of an old love story. The song gets its essence from the beautiful words by Kunaal Vermaa and when you have someone like Shreya Ghoshal and Stebin Ben singing your song, its pure magic. ‘Barsaat Aa Gayi’ is that – monsoon magic.”
