Producer Sandeep Singh has produced and presented some of the most memorable films in Bollywood and his eye for detail is well known in the industry. With films such as Sarbjit, Aligarh, Jhund and Main Atal Hood to his credit, his next film is Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, a biopic on the life of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who called for armed revolution against the British Raj. The producer says that the film wouldn’t have seen the light of the day, had actor Randeep Hooda didn’t come on board with it.

Sandeep says, “I have been trying since 2018 but I knew that no studio or funder would support me and actors would be very difficult. I had such a great experience working with Randeep in Sarbjit. I can say that out of my 15 films, it has been the best. I knew that if Randeep would say ‘no’ to this film, then this movie wouldn’t have been made. Other actors think about the marketing perception or their image over the story and character.”

Sandeep, during the press meet also thanked Zee Studios for supporting the film on a subject that others wouldn’t have the courage to support. “When I gave the concept of making this film, everybody told me not to make this because it will never be made and then one person who has always stood by me is Anand sir. In these kinds of films, no studio comes forward, so Zee thank you so much.”

Produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Randeep Hooda, Sandeep Singh & Yogesh Rahar. Co-produced by Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, Panchali Chakraborty. Starring Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande, and Amit Sial is slated to release on 22nd March 2024 in two languages – Hindi and Marathi.
