Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari is all set to release tomorrow (April 21). Being Holi, the movie will enjoy a partial holiday on the first day. In fact, with a huge buzz around the movie, everyone’s been eager to watch the movie too. So clearly, all these factors would enable it to earn a massive amount at the box office, around Rs 20 crore. And our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) also agrees with us. In fact, he says that Holi might be a disadvantage, but still the movie will open well.
Talking about Kesari‘s buzz, Akshaye reveals to us exclusively, “It looks really good. Going by the traction, despite the holiday disadvantage (several theatres open only post 2 pm), it will open to good numbers. It can easily rake in Rs 13 – 15 crore at the box office. Maybe even more. The buzz and reports are fantastic. So it will perform very well.” With 3500 screens at its disposal, we are sure Kesari will grow and rake in over the first weekend. And with no competition, though it clashes with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, it will earn a huge amount and post a huge profit at the box office!
Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari chronicles the Battle of Sargarhi (1897). It speaks about the valor and bravery of 21 Sikh soldiers who fought a massive battle with more than 10000 Afghan invaders. How they tried to protect Fort Sargarhi and the back story of their leader – Havildar Ishar Singh (Akshay Kumar) forms the most of the story. How excited are you about this one?
